RAWALPINDI: PMLN Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has given the Election Commission of Pakistan a January 19th deadline to announce a decision on the PTI illegal foreign funding case, before the massive protest demonstration by PDM in front of the ECP office Rawalpindi.
At a press conference, Marriyum said since 2014, there had been 70 hearings in Election Commission, 80 hearings in the scrutiny committee, 7 writ petitions, 24 written orders by the Election Commission, 21 written orders by the Scrutiny Committee and yet the case had not been decided. She reminded that Scrutiny committee wrote to the State Bank which revealed 23 undeclared foreign funding accounts, other than the eight declared by PTI.
The former Information Minister said the Election Commission does not announce the decision on the petition filed in 2014 because Imran Khan is guilty in this case and is trying to abuse his power in office to distort the evidence and influence the case. She said that the election commission in its comments had termed PTI’s tactics regarding the foreign funding case as ‘The Worst historic abuse of law to delay the case’
Marriyum told the media that the entire PTI party is based on illegal fake foreign funding accounts. This she said means that once the verdict is announced against PTI and Imran Khan, not only will Imran Khan be disqualified and forced to step down to face the law, but the entire party would be declared disqualified.
She welcomed the Election Commission’s upcoming meeting on January 13th and said that it should be ascertained that the decision of the case is announced by the 19th.
If one sitting Prime Minister can be tried and disqualified over Aqama while being tried over Panama; If one Prime Minister can be put through a barrage of fake and frivolous cases rooted in political victimization and prejudice; if the cases on Nawaz Sharif can be heard on a daily basis for the greater good of the country; this case must be heard on an every-day basis and be decided before the January 19th deadline.
She said the rented PTI mouthpieces were busy defending the incompetent and unqualified selected Prime Minister who had already confessed that he wasn’t prepared to govern he country when it was gifted to him by the selectors. They are trying to shoulder the massive burden of incompetence which isn’t theirs but is the fault of the selectors and the selected.
