PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has directed the party’s Economic Advisory Council to expose the government’s dismal and disastrous economic performance.
Shahbaz convened a meeting of the party’s Economic Advisory Council. The Economic Advisory Council should review strategies to prevent the passage of anti-people budget by PTI, he said. He told them to highlight the serious crisis faced by the people of Pakistan due to the skyrocketing inflation, record unemployment and economic destruction of the country because of PTI’s disastrous policies.
Shehbaz asked them to also highlight the realities of constant intentional increase in prices of electricity, gas, medicine, treatment, education and essential commodities.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Kahqan Abbasi, Former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, Former Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khurram Dastigir Khan, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Musaddiq Malik, Attaullah Tarrar, Shiza Khuwaja, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Bilal Azhar Kiyani participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
The meeting thoroughly reviewed the state of National Economy. It was decided that the council will present its proposals to safeguard the rights of the people considering the dire situation.
The PMLN President said this government may change the statistics by lying but that won’t change the ground realities of the economy clearly visible to everyone. PMLN will not allow the demands of the IMF to be imposed on the people in the name of budget, he pledged.
