NAB’s Vision & Mission Is Imran-Free Accountability – Marriyum

ISLAMABAD: PMLN Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has lashed out against the PTI government for the recent fictitious case regarding a horticulture contract which is a part of the most blatant political victimization campaign against Shehbaz Sharif and the PMLN leadership and yet they had failed to prove a single penny of corruption.

Talking to media alongside PMLN Deputy Secretary General Attaullah Tarrar, outside NAB office Islamabad, Marriyum said the answer to the NAB in this regard had been submitted. She said this all started with accusations of 90 billion and had now reduced to an Rs 4.5 million contract for flowers and plants along the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metro.

Marriyum called out the hypocrisy of NAB saying that PMLN built 3 metro bus projects in less than Rs 100 billion but NAB was blind to the RS 126 billion potholes and failing busses of the Peshawar metro. She said the NAB-Niazi alliance had been badly exposed already but they keep on proving PMLN right by cooking up such false cases to show the people of Pakistan the true persecution behind the fake narrative of accountability. She said the thieves who stole hundreds of billions of the people of Pakistan in sugar, flour, wheat, medicine, petrol and LNG scandals were free to corrupt billions more while NAB conveniently looked the other way.

The former Information minister said despite projects worth hundreds of billions this vicious NAB-Niazi Alliance had faced embarrassment and shame at the courts because they could not prove a dime of corruption. The PMLN leaders, who were imprisoned in death row cells were vindicated by the courts by the grace of God every time due process and justice was done, she added. She dared Imran Khan and his army of rented mouthpieces to file one of their fake cases on Shehbaz for setting up 5500 megawatts worth of electricity projects, 5 metro bus projects, roads, hospitals, universities, colleges and schools that were benefitting the people of Pakistan every single day. She lambasted that all these projects that were set up for public welfare were being destroyed by Imran Khan by taking away money from education, by snatching away free medicine from the poor people at public hospitals, by choking funds for public welfare and development while his ATMs, mafias, and cartels sitting alongside him in Banigala make billions in corruption with his patronage.

Marriyum said the people of Pakistan had thoroughly understood the tactics of Imran and company. Which is why, she said, Imran knew that he won’t win a single constituency in the next election. To once again defy the people their mandate, Imran was now hatching this master plan of chips voting instead of people through Electronic Voting Machines and to hide this massive rigging, he was bent of bringing the Media Development Authority that would silence everyone who would expose this rigging. But she said the people of Pakistan were too smart to be fooled again and PMLN would fight at every forum and beyond to make sure that these unconstitutional measures were not implemented.

Talking to the media, Attaullah Tarrar said the NAB was blatantly lying about sending the call up notice regarding this case claiming that it was received on July 9th. He said all such notices were legally given with written receiving and if the Nab had any such receiving the rented mouthpieces of the government should display it on television which they were so fond of. He also pointed out that references of such relatively small value could not be filed without the direct consent of the Chairman NAB by law, which means that this case was a result of the direct involvement of Chairman NAB. This, he said, proves how blatant the NAB-Niaizi alliance had become in their acts of political victimization and persecution which was now a reality accepted by the entire country and international monitors as well.

Tarrar said after keeping Shehbaz Sharif multiple times in custody, despite the 58 volumes and over a hundred witnesses, when NAB approached the court it was revealed that none of the cases were about corruption in the first place. Despite all government resources and records, abuse of power and overreach of authority, this NAB-Niazi alliance had failed to prove a single penny of corruption on Shehbaz Sharif and the PMLN leadership, he said.
