PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has said that China’s peaceful rise as the world second largest economy and a paramount global power owes itself to the vision and dedication of Communist Party Of China.
Speaking at the Chinese Communist Party And World Political Parties’ Summit, in relevance with the 100-year anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, Shehbaz said it was a matter of great pleasure and personal privilege to speak at the CPC summit. He expressed gratitude to the international department of the Communist Party Of China for extending the invitation to the PMLN President and senior party leaders on the historic anniversary. He said this gesture speaks volumes about the excellent relationship that CPC and PMLN continue to enjoy at a party-to-party level since the last few decades. He said over the past few years the two parties have collaborated very closely at different levels and have provided a strong underpinning to the China Pakistan bilateral relationship. He said that the theme for the summit ‘ People’s Wellbeing The Responsibilities Of Political Parties was most apt and relevant to the realities of the contemporary Times. He said the CPC had indeed led from the front in promoting the cause of Wellbeing of the Chinese people as well as the international community. The CPC and China were two sides of the same coin and it was nearly impossible to distinguish between the both, he said.
Shehbaz said the story of China is the story of the Chinese Communist Party, story of epic success achieved not merely through chance but through dogged resolve and masterful planning. He said he first learnt about the CPC when he was a young schoolboy and was fascinated with pictures of little children holding a red book. Two elements have made China great, the endless energy ,creativity and hard work of the people and the generations of leadership provided by the CPC. China’s peaceful rise as the world second largest economy and a paramount global power owes itself to the vision and dedication of CPC. He said it was only a few Decades ago that the CPC started the journey of taking China to the world and today the world comes knocking at its door. Achieving excellent economic growth rates for over 3 decades and lifting over 800 million out of acute poverty testifies to the public welfare model pursued by the CPC. The 21st century today is being hailed as the Asian Century. The epic transformation is being shaped by people-led, people-owned and people-centered concept of development and welfare, he stated.
The PMLN President said the Belt and Road Initiative, of which CPEC remains a flagship project is a manifestation of the great vision of cooperation of CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping’s quest for national rejuvenation based on a community of shared interests. In addition to advocating and defending the idea of economic globalisation, China under President Xi Jinping had demonstrated global leadership in helping the third world in battling the coronavirus Pandemic through massive donations of vaccine as a greater public good. China is bringing much needed balancing and stabilising influence on the world order and as a strong advocate of multilateral global order under the auspices of the UN charter.
The National Assembly Opposition Leader said the wisdom spawned by history of intellectual genius is what China had gifted to the world and the same vision 9f shared development to be achieved through win-win partnerships was the CPC’s clarion call for the world to promote cooperation over confrontation.
Shehbaz congratulated the CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping and the people of China on the 100th anniversary 9f the founding of the Chinese Communist Party. He saidbhe assures his Chinese friends that PMLN would be more than willing to work with the CPC to promote the cause of shared development, peace and prosperity. He ended his speech saying long live Pakistan-China friendship.
