PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif says the Opposition had decided that if the treasury benches would listen to opposition speeches with patience, the opposition would also listen to the Prime Minister’s speech with calm, but after Tuesday’s events nothing could be guaranteed.

Addressing the National Assembly, Shehbaz said the the speaker ensured that Imran Khan Niazi’s orders of hooliganism in the assembly against opposition and opposition leader were implemented.

Shehbaz said Tuesday was one of the darkest days in the history of Pakistan’s parliament. He said the Speaker watched and did nothing as the government MNAs abused, harassed and assaulted opposition members of the parliament. He said it was the duty of the speaker to ensure that the house is run in an impartial manner in line with the law, constitution and parliamentary conventions and traditions, but he completely failed to do so.

Shehbaz said the Speaker intentionally did not stop the hooliganism of PTI MNAs because he didn’t want to defy Imran Khan’s orders
