ISLAMABAD: PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has extended felicitations to the nation on the eve of Yaum-e-Takbir.
In his statement Shehbaz said those who made the country a nuclear power are the heroes of the country. He directlled the party leaders, members and workers to celebrate the day with zeal, zest and National enthusiasm. He told them to highlight the sacrifices made to achieve nuclear deterrence. The new generation should be enlightened regarding the truth about the importance, and objective of this historic day, he added. He said the affect of this decision on Pakistan’s security and sovereignty should also be shared.
He said 23 years ago Nawaz Sharif announced that Pakistan would not accept anyones subservience. He said Nawaz’s courage, bravery and representation of national interest were an unforgettable chapter of the history of the country and the world, he said. He paid rich tribute to all those individuals and institutions who played a role in making Pakistan and nuclear.
“Pakistan’s nuclear capability is its most reliable deterrent. After making Pakistan the world’s 7th nuclear power, Nawaz set out to make Pakistan an economic power. Had this been allowed to continue Pakistan would have been an economic power by now as well”, the PMLN President said.
