LAHORE: PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has demanded that provision of subsidized edibles be ensured to the people during Ramadan at every cost.
In a statement Shehbaz said prices of edibles, fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities must be bright down at least during the month of Ramadan. He also called for a better mechanism of selling sugar at Utility Stores and the standard of commodities be improved. He said these long queues during pandemic were derogatory to the integrity of the people and potentially fatal.
The National Assembly Opposition Leader also called for curtailing the pre Eid rush in markets. But also said the government must make arrangements in a way that the nation could celebrate Eid’s happiness without being at risk.
Earlier, Jamat-e-Islami Chief Siraj ul Haq called Shehbaz to congratulate him on his release from NAB custody. He wished Shehbaz well for the future. The PMLN President thanked the JI Chief.
