PMLN Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal says selected Imran Niazi government is pushing the country towards constitutional anarchy after administrative turmoil.
The recent ordinance by this government is another worst attack on the constitution, Ahsan Iqbal said.
Speaking in Narowal, he said Presidential Ordinance on Senate Open Election is an attack on Pakistan’s constitution and independence of Supreme Court. If this unconstitutional move is upheld, the 18th Amendment can also be rolled back through a presidential ordinance, he warned. He went on to say that another such Ordinance may be issued to restore 58-B too.
He said every Pakistani knows that when a case is sub-judice in the Supreme Court, neither it can be commented on nor its status can be changed. When the government sent a reference to the Supreme Court, trying to change this situation through an ordinance it is tantamount to dictating a writ to the Supreme Court, Ahsan Iqbal said.
Ahsan said this is contempt of Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court should reject the government ordinance. He added every sector in the country has been destroyed. There is no constitution or law in Pakistan anymore and only Imran Niazi’s ego and hatred reigns in the country, he lambasted. The purpose of the presidential ordinance is to reward the friends of Imran Niazi.
The Constitution of Pakistan cannot be changed for the sake of Imran Khan. The country’s economy, politics and embassy were all destroyed. Imran Niazi also tried to score political points in Kashmir Day meeting. Imran Khan traded-off Kashmir and had surrendered Pakistan’s long standing commitment and stance which is a proper crime under the constitution.
He warned no one can play with the constitution with PML-N. he pledged If the constitution of Pakistan is looked down upon in Pakistan, then every worker of PML-N will fight this war on Pakistan’s side.
