PMLN Rejects Broadsheet Investigation Commission’s Partisan Chief Justice Azmat Saeed

ISLAMABAD: PMLN has rejected the appointment of Justice Azmat Saeed as the head of the Broadsheet Inquiry Commission has said that he isn’t impartial to the case in question.

“Justice Saeed was part of the NAB during the tenure that will be investigated by the commission. There is a glaring and undeniable conflict of interest. How can he be called impartial in this case. How can the commission be impartial if it’s headway part of the setup that caused such damage of money and reputation to the country “, she questioned.

In a statement PMLN Secretary lnformation Marriyum Aurangzeb said, if the government wanted such a One-man commission, he should have included Shehzad Akbar and his rented mouthpieces in this commission as well. She pointed out that according to the notification, Justice Azmat Saeed was NAB’s Deputy Prosecutor General during the time the Broadsheet contract was done. S
The notification is proof that the National Accountability Bureau isn’t at all serious in arresting and punishing the liars and commission sharks in this case.

“Azmat Saeed’s appointment is a brutal murder of the constitution, law, transparency and justice. The commission is an attempt to save those who asked for commissions and cuts”, Marriyum said.

She said It is important to know why is the imposed PTI government bent on appointing Justice Azmat Saeed only, whereas the main focus and stress should be impartial inquiry. This, she said, proves the mala fide intent of the selected government. Highest tier representative bodies of lawyers had also strongly rejected this appointment but the government is adamant, which shows that this appointment is purely vested agenda driven, she pointed out. This is another eyewash to fool the people of Pakistan which is unacceptable to PMLN.

The former Information Minister said Imran was desperately trying to get an NRO in the Broadsheet case by abusing his power. She said hindering a transparency and impartiality of an investigation into billions of damage to the national exchequer shows that this imposed government isn’t at all interested in eliminating corruption.

Imran Khan cannot afford an independent, transparent and impartial inquiry into the Broadsheet case because he lacks the courage and the guts to question those who were involved in this massive scam, she concluded.
