PMLN Joint Parliamentary Party Meeting Communiqué
The PMLN joint parliamentary party meeting, comprising members of the National Assembly and Senate, condemned the French government’s actions of republishing blasphemous caricatures of the Holy Prophet (SAWW), protest and demand that the French government apologize for hurting the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world. It also demanded that Pakistan’s ambassador to France be called back in protest to the acts of the French government.
It demanded that an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) be called immediately over the matter. It demanded that the bloc should formulate a joint response strategy of the Islamic world so that the incidents related to Islam, the Prophet of Islam (SAWW) and the Holy Qur’an can be effectively addressed at the global level. It stressed that such blasphemous actions do not fall into the category of freedom of expression. The Western world, including France, should legislate to ensure respect for holy figures, religious beliefs and sacred places. It said the inability to do so will widen the gap between Islam and the Western world which is against the international values and interests of the international community, democracy and mutual respect.
The meeting also protested against the recent wave of unbearable inflation in the country. The sale of tomatoes at Rs 260 per kg, capsicum at Rs 400, onion at Rs 80 and potatoes at Rs 60 per kg in different cities of the country is a test of people’s patience and expression of this selected government’s cruelty and apathy. Unemployment, economic collapse, electricity and gas prices have already broken the economic backbone of the people. The price of bread is Rs. 30, flour Rs. 75 and sugar Rs 115 and 792 percent increase in medicine prices are a crime againt the people of Pakistan by this selected hoard of looters.
The meeting strongly condemned the attitude of the present vote thief selected government against the esteemed Supreme Court Judge Qazi Faiz Issa, his wife and children and demanded that the President, Prime Minister, Law Minister and Advisor after the recent detailed decision of the Supreme Court All those who have been found guilty of conspiracy to attack the judiciary in the decision of the Supreme Court should resign from their posts, including NAB and Interior Ministry. The meeting fully supported the statement of the Pakistan Bar Council in this matter and supported the demand that the Supreme Court hear the petition for review as soon as possible and fulfill all requirements of justice. The meeting considers that the calls for justice for Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui should also be considered.
The meeting paid homage and tribute to the leadership of the opposition at the grand rallies of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Quetta after massive shows at Gujranwala and Karachi. The meeting stressed that under the leadership of Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the PDM’s historic struggle for supremacy of the Constitution, law and parliament has turned into a national movement and the people of Balochistan after Punjab and Sindh have stamped their endorsement too. The meeting reiterated the commitment that the PML-N would take full part in future meetings of the PDM and play a historic role in the success of this national movement.. The meeting also strongly condemned the government’s shallow and petty attempts and media campaign to create rift among PDM parties.
The meeting strongly condemns the illegal breaking and entering into Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s room, violating the constitution, law, rules of Islam and trampling on Eastern values and baseless allegations on her husband Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar, during the PMLN meeting in Karachi on October 19, 2020. It also strongly condemns the threats to her close associates and expresses concern over their safety and the safety of Maryam Nawaz.
It noted that same people appear to be involved in the same elements who were involved in the abduction of IG police Sindh, which was state terrorism. It said the Imran Khan, who had already threatened PDM and especially PMLN leadership and their associates on national TV, will be held responsible for any harm to Maryam or her associates.
The meeting also strongly condemned the propaganda of the rented spokespersons of the vote-robbing government linking PDM to countries hostile to Pakistan. Statements that harm the interests of the country are proof that the government has lost its footing and has no answer to its historical failures, incompetence and corruption in every field including inflation and national economic catastrophe. It termed the foreign funding case as solid evidence of the current government taking money from Pakistan’s enemies. The ECP, which has been pending in the case for six years, released the documents obtained through the SBP so that the nation can know which country and which person has provided huge amount of money to Imran Khan, it demanded.
The meeting demanded that cases of theft of foreign funding, 23 secret accounts, Malam Jabba, helicopter case, BRT, Billion Tree Tsunami, flour, sugar be heard on a daily basis.
The meeting strongly condemned the CPEC Authority Bill and its immunity. It deemed that is not in the national interest to entrust with this crucial and sensitive project’s responsibility, a person facing controversy and allegations. It aid Asim Saleem Bajwa’s resignation from one post is an acknowledgment of the facts against him. Therefore, while fulfilling the requirements of law and justice, he should be immediately investigated and removed from the post of Chairman CPEC till completion of the inquiry. The meeting stressed that there is no exception for the head of an institution.
The meeting congratulated Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Party President and Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif on the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Orange Line train. This project is also a shining example of PML-N’s public service, honesty and sincerity۔ The meeting saw it as a great gift from Iron Brother China for which the meeting thanked the Chinese leadership and government. It paid rich tribute to Shahbaz Sharif who worked hard day and night and made these plans with the ideal savings of the national exchequer . it slammedy the NAB Niazi Nexus has unjustly imprisoning him for political revenge.
It also pointed out that the Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz, is also bound for uncommitted sins. The meeting also strongly condemned the low-key attitude of the NAB Niazi nexus with the wife and daughter of party president and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif. The meeting salutes the spirit, courage and bravery of the party leadership, leaders and their families.
The meeting expressed solidarity and support for the nationwide movement of media and demanded that Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and other arrested journalists be released. It demanded that all false and baseless cases registered against journaists be dropped. It atrongly condemned the disappearance of senior journalist Ali Imran Syed and his anonymity for the past 18 hours. It demanded that the details of Ali Imran Syed’s abductors be brought before the nation and action be taken against the elements involved. The meeting lambasted the government’s approach of silencing every voice to suppress the truth like a true brutal dictatorship and said that this oppression has been rejected by the nation. The meeting also strongly condemns the closure of Channel 24 News.
The meeting expressed grief and sorrow over the death of the brother of Mohib Ali Phulpoto Prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for his family.
