Global Fund’s Lack Of Trust In PTI Govt Open Statement Of Int’l Admission Of Imran’s Incompetence, Lack Of Credibility – Marriyum

PMLN Secretary lnformation Marriyum Aurangzeb has expressed disappointment over the International organisation Global Fund’s decision to protect and guard its money by itself instead of trusting the PTI government.

In a statement Marriyum said this is a clear expression of distrust by the Swiss organisation in Imran Khan’s administration. She said the letter by the organisation is a statement of ineptitude, incompetence, nonseriousness, lack of transparency and mismanagement of the Imran-led government. She said the additional safeguard policy by the organisation is a testament of the fact that this government has lost all credibility.

The former Information Minister said the international fund has taken the is step due to the political instability and the failed government in Pakistan. She said the criminal negligence of PTI government and exclusion of people and stakeholders from decision-making and policy-making, rampant fraud and corruption in Pakistan.

She told that the fund had decided to spend $ 300 million grant for AIDS, TB and malaria under its own supervision instead of trusting and involving the government of Pakistan. This, she said, is an expression of distrust and disappointment in Imran Khan’s nonseriousness in dealing with AIDS and other fatal diseases. Imran’s similar attitude towards Polio had reaped devastating results for the country where its spread has started increasing instead of diminishing under Imran’s rule, she added.

Marriyum said Imran’s incompetence and inability is writ large over every failure from Dengue to the new coronavirus. Healthcare related problems are worsening in the provinces due to the apathy of the federal government, she said. National healthcare has been jeopardised by Imran government’s disinterest in battling HIV, TB and Malaria.

The PMLN Secretary lnformation said this letter is proof that the government is not effectively spending the available resources on relevant programmes that need them the most. Even at the federal level, the Minister Health could not utilise the funds for national helathcare effectively.
