Marriyum Eviscerates PTI’s 2 Years In Government

PMLN Secretary lnformation Marriyum Aurangzeb has declared the PTI government’s 2-year performance as appallingly disappointing, corrupt and worst in history of the country.

In a statement Marriyum expressed commiserations and solidarity with the people of Pakistan for living through the insufferable 2 years of the Imran-led Mafia regime. These two years, she said, are the remarkable tale of an unremarkable Imran Khan. Every single one of Imran’s promises turned out to be farce and these two years blew the lid off his much touted ability and competence which turned out to be lies, she added.

She highlighted “Every promise broken, every reform ditched, every crisis mismanaged, and every commitment unfulfilled. PTI’s two years is a never-ending story of disappointments and failures.”

She said the selected Prime Minister and his government’s incompetence, corruption and inability to govern have been exposed in the shortest possible time. Pakistan had to face the worst at all fronts from Occupied Kashmir to foreign policy in general, to economic disasters and governance blunders under this nightmare of a government, she added. The county has been ruled by the Imran-led Mafia government that serves and encourages other mafias to join the looting spree with the assurance of being later exonerated by an eyewash commission.

Summarising the 2 years Marriyum said, ” He economy plummeted from 5.8 to 0.4 GDP; 2 million lost their jobs while 8 million got pushed below poverty line; policy rate to 2.13 while industry and businesses were destroyed; general inflation rocketed to 12 percent while Food inflation shot to 15 percent; sugar went from Rs 52 to Rs 105, flour from Rs 35 to 75; prices of medicine were raised by a staggering 300 percent; national currency saw unprecedented historic devaluation; the tariffs of electricity and gas were raised to point of unaffordable high for most Pakistanis”.

The former Information Minister said the 2 years of Imran Government were the darkest for freedom of speech, of the press and constitutional liberties. The freedom of judiciary, constitutional and democratic obligations, conventions and practices were razed to the ground while supremacy of Parliament took a brutal hit. The process of legislation too was dealt significant damage while the Standing Committees remained suspended. Even the basic rights of the civilians were usurped, she added.

The government has only excelled in one domain which is gagging, victimisation and persecution of the opposition, media and anyone who dares to expose their disastrous rule. The lockdown of Pakistan’s parliament continues, she said.

Marriyum said the PMLN will issue a White Paper on the government’s corruption and deplorable performance over the past 2 years.

“PTI’s promises far exceeded their ambition and their ability and capacity to deliver even basic governance. Never has a government reached such lows in such a short time with such little effort. It is a classic story of a remarkable failure by an very un-remarkable prime minister.” She said
