Imran, PTI Would Be Responsible For Any Harm To Matiullah Jaan – Shehbaz
PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif while expressing deep concern over the disappearance of veteran journalist Matiullah Jaan has said that if any harm were to be done to him Imran Khan and his government would be responsible.
In a statement Shehbaz said that after the government’s extensive anti-media measures, arrest of Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and the shutting down of 24 News, this incident is extremely worrying.
Shehbaz said media is the fourth pillar of the state, expression of the constitution and a symbol of public freedom which cannot be compromised at any cost whatsoever. He said the current government’s practices of turning disagreements into personal rivalry is very naïve.
Shehbaz demanded that Matiullah Jaan should be immediate searched and his wellbeing should be ascertained.
