Asif Slams Imran for Calling OBL Martyr, Says Pakistan Cannot Survive If Imran Isn’t Ousted
PMLN Central Leader and Former Defence Minister Khawaja Asif slammed Prime Minister Imran Khan for calling Osama Bin Ladin a martyr on the floor of the assembly and said OBL is responsible for the terrorism in Pakistan that cost tens of thousands of lives of Pakistani civilians and soldiers.
Responding to Imran’s speech, Asif said the Prime Minister glorified by calling martyr a person who was through and through a terrorist and who left no stone unturned to destroy Pakistan by wrecking havoc in the country. Asicf also took aim at Imran’s less than perfect manner of mentioning the Final Propert Muhammad (SAWW).
He said the apologetic tone of Imran’s speech after the recent revelations and admissions of failures and infighting within the party was visible in his speech. But he said this apologetic tone won’t stop the country heading into a dead end under their steering, the cycle of destruction of Pakistan cannot be reversed as long as Imran is sitting in the chair of the Prime Minister. It can only be stopped by ousting Imran from the seat of the Prime Minister which he never deserved.
The PMLN Leader said Imran is a symbol of destruction. Destruction of economy, healthcare, foreign policy and everything else. He pointed out that it was a global diplomatic embarrassment for Pakistan that India got elected to the UNSC by such a thumping massive majority vote. The Kashmiris are languishing and dying everyday under Indian despotism and Imran-led government was helping India get overwhelming majority vote in the UNSC, he said.
He opined that Imran’s speech was an on-demand show which was not for the parliament but someone else. This feable attempt to appease the opposition come too late because the entire nation now knows that Imran and his administration is the real coronavirus eating the country hollow eversince it came into power and there is no cure for it other that getting rid of it, he lambasted.
The government is now asking the opposition to help legislations for FATF after persecuting opposition leaders through the worst political victimisation ever, he said. He reminded how Rana Sanaullah was framed in narcotics case to make him bow to the government which he didn’t, while Jahangir Tareen after committing billions worth of corruption is chilling in the UK.
No Prime Minister in the history of the country has come to the parliament session fewer times than Imran. It is this sense of arrogance and false pride which will eliminate him from politics soon, he said. He challenged Imran to a one-on-one debate and said these monologues of his mean nothing.
Talking about the past economic figures quoted by Imran, Asif said they were untrue. He went on to say when Imran was making tall claims and promises from atop the container, he knew about all these figure back then as well. And if he knew about all this and promised fixing it all in no time, Imran now complaining after destroying the nation economy to blame his inability, incompetence and failures on the past.
Asif said the PTI government is obsessed with bringing up the current account deficit as if it is the only indicator and an overlying factor in an economy. It is not the only indicator or overuling factor as a number of countries with worse current account deficits did not collapse like Pakistan’s economy collapsed under Imran Khan’s government. He said this government has pushed 50 percent of the population under the poverty line. He pointed out that even before covid-19, PTI government’s policies had rendered 5.5 million people jobless and now that figure is over 150 million.
The PMLN Leader reminded that this government devalued national currency by 40 percent on the pretext of boosting exports but despite such massive devaluation, could not increase exports. However, it has earned Pakistan a name for exporting the new coronavirus as Australia says 23 percent of the virus in their country was spread by Pakistanis while a recent flight to Hong Kong had 29 covid-19 positive Pakistanis out of the 36 infected, he told the parliament.
Asif asked Imran to stop lecturing the parliament on his incorrect knowledge of history because he is impressing no one. He corrected Imran on his description of the Mughal Empire and Byzantine Empire and suggested that Imran should properly read himself, the book he was recommending to the parliament.
