Covid19 did destroy Pak Economy It Only Attended The Funeral Of Pakistan’s Economy Murdered By PTI Govt – PMLN
PMLN Central Leader and Former Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says the government is dumping its economic failures on covid-19 but the truth is that this administration had killed national economy before the virus outbreak, the pandemic only attended the funeral of Pakistan’s economy.
Talking to the media after the budget speech outside the parliament, Asif said PTI’s training record has proven that they cannot be trusted on any statistics they share. They boasted of 3.5 GDP, and later said it was 1.9.
He said the coronavirus arrived in Pakistan in March which makes just one fiscal quarter. The other three quarters are a tale of the destruction of Pakistan’s economy, he said.
“Before March, the Industrial growth was minis 2.6 percent, debt to GDP ratio 88 percent, inflation 11 percent, 4 million had been pushed below the poverty line, the GDP had plunged to 1.9 from 5.8, circular debt was through the roof, revenue collection was at historic deficit and every sector of economy was a total devastation according to the government’s own numbers. These numbers are a clear proof of the fact that the government’s chest beating over coronavirus economic fallout is a lie”, he said.
Asif said PMLN brought 6.5 percent of the population out of misery above the poverty line. Eversince coming into power this government has given almost Rs 1.75 trillion in tax breaks to the rich while crushing people under taxes.
He said PMLN negotiated with the IMF the best deal completed the program flawlessly but this government has mortgaged the country, its sovereignty and future of coming generations to the IMF.
