Pakistan Needs Leadership Like That On Yaum-e-Takbeer To Become Atomic Economy – Shehbaz
PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan announced itself as an atomic power under PMLN Quaid Nawaz Sharif’s leadership with through national unity, unwavering resolve and unshakeable belief and the time has come to make Pakistan an atomic economy following these same principles.
Addressing the Yaum-e-Takbeer event held at PMLN Lahore Secretariat via video link. Shehbaz paid Roch tribute to the heroes who made Pakistan the first nuclear power of the Islamic world and the 7th globally. He said on this day, Pakistan gave India a jaw-jarring response by conducting 6 successful nuclear tests in response to New Delhi’s 5. Nawaz refused to compromise on Pakistan’s security. He said that from Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto till Nawaz Sharif thousands of Pakistanis gave their entire lives to make this happen including scientists, the armed forces and the unnamed heroes all deserve the status of Ghazis for their contribution to this cause, he said.
The PMLN President reminded how Nawaz had an iron will without any doubts in his head to go ahead with the tests despite immense international pressure. He said US President Bill Clinton offered a 5 billion dollar package if Pakistan takes back its decision to conduct nuclear tests. But Nawaz Sharif rejected the offer with disdain and stood up for the country’s sovereignty, he said. Shehbaz said Nawaz did not even fear the consequent sanctions because he had united the entire country behind him because of his inclusive leadership qualities.
But sadly and regretfully, Shehbaz said, the people ruling the country not only lack the resolve and will to take crucial decisions but are incapacitated to unite the country. He said these inabilities and drawbacks of the PTI government allowed India to besieged the entire population of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and annex the disputed territory under crushing curfew.
The National Assembly Opposition Leader said this government and its leaders are in a state of utter confusion and indecision on everything, be it the response to the covid19 pandemic or the country’s economy. He pointed out how even before the pandemics economic fallout, the economy growing at 5.8 was brought down crashing to 1.9 while the government lied that it was 3.5.
Shehbaz said he led the effort to create national cohesion over every issue starting from economic challenges to the fight against COVID-19. But, he said, this government wasted the most golden opportunity of uniting the nation as every time the opposition came together for national cause, the Prime Minister refused to be a part of it. Such an approach can never lead the country out of the challenges it currently faces, he stressed.
Shehbaz said while the country is currently going through testing times, the incompetence of this government has turned these challenges into crisis. He said there is no doubt that Pakistan can overcome these challenges but that would only be possible under competent, iron-willed, unwavering, uncompromising leadership with the ability to unite the country just the way Nawaz Sharif led the country at Yaum-e-Takbeer.
Shehbaz said acting upon Quaid e Azam’s principles of unity, faith, descipline and unshakeable belief, Pakistan will rise and become the power its founder always wanted it to be. He asked the nation to continue practicing precautions and social Distancing and celebrate the Yaum-e-Takbeer at their homes with prayers and chants of Nara-e-Takbir.
