Entire Sugar Inquiry Commission report is an eyewash and a cover up job to save the skin of the real culprits, Shehbaz

PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif has says the entire Sugar Inquiry Commission report is an eyewash and a cover up job to save the skin of the real culprits of this scandal Prime Minister Imran Khan, his cabinet and Punjab CM Usman Buzdar and his cabinet.

Talking to a private channel Shehbaz said this scandal was not about who got the subsidy, but the real crime in all this was the criminal decision to export sugar against the written recommendation of the sugar advisory boards amid shortage of sugar in the country.

He said this decision is the sole responsibility and prerogative of the Prime Minister who is the head of the Economic Coordination Committee Pakistan ECC, even if he asks the Finance Minister to chair it on his behalf.

Shehbaz said Imran Khan made a conscious decision to export Sugar to benefit his blue eyed to pay back their financial favors by robbing people of Pakistan. He said not only did he helped them make billions through export while the rupee was devalued, but also robbed the people by jacking up sugar prices from Rs 52 to Rs 90 due to the consequent shortage in local market because of this untimely export.

This scandal, Shehbaz said, is not about the Rs 3 billion of subsidy but of hundreds of billions made through the artificial shortage create and the price hike.

Shehbaz said Imran Niazi should have appeared before the Commission as he is the prime suspect in this case. Shehbaz said if former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Shehbaz himself can appear for accountability and even brave unwarranted imprisonment, why can’t Imran.

He said this commission of inquiry and the media fiasco create over its report are a diversion from the real crime and the real criminal Imran Khan.
