Imran-led PTI Govt Of Unqualified, Incompetent, Corrupt Has Jeopardised Pakistan’s Human Security, Military Security – Ahsan Iqbal
PMLN Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal says Imran Khan’s government has the funds to pay his 51-member cabinet and the army of 50 spokespersons in Punjab but when it comes to paying the education fees of the youth of Pakistan, this government whines about dearth of funds.
Talking to media, Ahsan said Imran has cheated the people of Pakistan by luring then with the dream of change and progress and using them to feed his lust for power, money and position. He asked the ideologues of who voted for PTI in the hope for a better Pakistan, to assess the situation and understand how they had been betrayed, exploited and used by Imran for personal enrichment. Ahsan said those voters need to see now how Imran has surrounded himself with established turncoats who are insensitive to any ideology and nationalism and are always busy looting the nation with both hands. Imran is the chief patron of this sugar mafia, wheat mafia and pharma mafia and does not care about the plight and interests of the people. He and his Cronies are busy robbing the nation while they create this hoopla of diversion with a media smear campaign against PMLN and the opposition at large.
He said these press conferences are nothing more political propaganda gimmickry, while the real corrupt are safe under the umbrella of Imran Khan. He said Imran is guilty of over Rs 1 billion corruption in sugar, wheat and Medicine scandals because he is the head of the cabinet and all these decisions were taken by the cabinet.
Ahsan said not only has this government failed to secure the country from mass covid-19 breakout but has also jeopardised national defence with their failed economic policies. He said with the massive devaluation of the rupee the defence budget of the country has been reduced to half while with the depleting economy, Imran-led government won’t even be able to allocate a defence budget equal to last year. He stressed that Imran Khan has failed at ensuring the country’s Military Security as well has human security, both of which simultaneously are the cornerstone of a country.
The PMLN Secretary General said this government has taken more than twice the loans taken by PMLN but Imran has zero development to show for it. PMLN built 11,000 megawatts of electricity capacity, 2000 kilometres of motorways, the CPEC, and fought comprehensive war against terrorism with those loans, but Imran has not even laid a brick with the massive foreign debt he has added to the country. Imran Khan has put the country future hostage by using foreign debt to minimise national debt.
Ahsan said it is true coronavirus has had a damaging affect on the economy but it is also true that Imran has already locked down the country’s economy before coronavirus by raising interest rate to 13 percent, 14 percent inflation and 1 percent growth rate. And now, he said, of this remain in the hands of this administration, the country’s future is in grave danger. He called on the government to present a Post-Coronavirus Economy Recovery Plan & Strategy at the earliest.
He said this government has added hundreds of billions in cost overruns in development projects due to the delays including Orange Line Metro Train. He said PTI and Imran should pay this extra cost.
He said over 3 days of National Assembly session the government could not present a single piece of paper to show its strategy, progress in the fight against covid-19 or future course of action. He said this government has used national resources to malign federating units of the Republic and running smear campaigns against opposition. This government has demonised the accountability process so bad that now when NAB calls in someone, their stature is elevated instead of being lowered, he said.
Even with all their power, resources and abuse of public money, the Imran-led government has failed to prove any corruption of public money on PMLN leadership, he said.
