PMLN Demands Full Schedule For Completion of Constitutionally Mandated National Assembly Session Days
PMLN Parliamentary Leader Khawaja Asif has demanded that the Speaker National Assembly to provide a full schedule for the completion of the constitutionally mandated days of the National Assembly.
In a letter to the Speaker Asad Qaiser, Asif said as per Article 54(2) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, National Assembly is constitutionally required to meet for not less than one hundred thirty (130) working days in each year. But s till now it has only met for 77 days, while 53 session days are still remaining to complete the required days in Parliamentary year according to the Constitution of Pakistan, he said.
Asif said the Parliament is the supreme institution in the country; its failure to complete constitutionally mandated days would amount to breach of this August House.
Therefore, the PMLN Parliamentary Leader called upon the Speaker to provide a full schedule for the completion of the constitutionally mandated days of the National Assembly.
