PMLN Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb while rejecting all allegations leveled by the government against National Assembly Opposition Leader as a fraud with the nation has dared Shehzad Akbar to take his so-called proof of cheques to the court instead of his usual circus at press conferences.
She said that party President Shehbaz Sharif has no link whatsoever with any of these companies and cheques.
In a statement, Marriyum said the government is trying to hide the dying Pakistanis in this fog of smear campaign against Shehbaz. She said if Shehbaz had any connection with any of these cheques, NAB would have been in the court, not at another one of its fake document waving circus press conferences. If any of these accusations had evidential backing NAB would not have withdrawn its cases against Shehbaz from the Supreme Court, she said.
Marriyum said, “After being shamefully embarrassed and rebuked by the courts, NAB has now transformed its political victimization into a media trial. Not only is NAB offered to be used and abused as a pet and a tool of this government for persecution of opposition, but has failed miserably at all its efforts to silence the voice of the people’s representatives despite its vengeful tactics. If NAB has any single plausible evidence, and an inkling of honor, it should take it to court and also make it public. Shehzad Akbar should stop his cheap parlour tricks at PID and should take these evidences to court”.
The former Information Minister said, Shehzad Akbar should hold his next press conference over Imran Khan’s 23 illegal bank accounts holding billions, foreign funding, Mallam Jabba, Helicopter Cases, Bani Gala Illegal Annexation, Billion tree Tsunami scam, 100 billion Peshawar BRT potholes, Rs 500 billion in Sugar Corruption and Rs 580 billion as Chief enabler in illegal import of medicine from India. Shehzad Akbar must also present a comprehensive report on illegal profiteering worth Rs 507 billion over sugar and the illegal export and import of Sugar.
Marriyum said Shehzad Akbar should also present the cheques signed by Imran Khan in foreign funding which are signed by Imran Khan and are now a part of evidential record of the State Bank. Imran Khan’s money laundering through Hundi present in the Election Commission should also be presented in the next press conference she demanded.
She said the NAB-Niazi Allaince, despouet holding all power, records and resources, has not been able to prove a dime of corruption of public money on the Sharif family. She said now that this accusation led smear campaign policy has been rebuked by the courts, it has been made into a media trial. But when the media exposed the government’s blunders, failures and mega corruption, Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman is arrested and imprisoned. The moment media starts speaking the truth they are persecuted and harassed through PEMRA notices and NAB arrest warrants. Channels are forced off air, transmissions are cut and distribution of newspapers is disrupted through coercion, she said.
This government is harassing, persecuting and coercing the country’s media to publish and broadcast lies or face crushing consequences. Media has been reduced to a tool of defiling and tainting opposition leaders through smear campaigns.
She said this NAB-Niazi unholy alliance has not been able to prove any corruption in hundreds of billions worth of Metro Bus Projects, Power Plants, Roads, Motorways, Educational Institute and hospitals. She slammed the illegal imprisonment of Hamza Shehbaz and questioned as to why has NAB-Niazi alliance failed to put together a single reference against him if there were so many overwhelming evidences against him.
