Nawaz returns PM’s courtesy call

PML-N president Nawaz Sharif called back Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday and greeted him over offering Hajj and Eid al Azha.

According to Nawaz Sharif’s media coordinator Dr Asif Kirmani, PM Raja Pervez Ashraf had made a phone call to Nawaz Sharif on late Monday night. Nawaz Sharif was sleeping at the time so he could not get connected.

Nawaz Sharif called the PM back in the morning (Tuesday) and conveyed him Eid greetings. Nawaz is learnt to have greeted the PM over performing Hajj and Eid al Azha too.

The sources said Raja Pervez Ashraf thanked Nawaz Sharif over greeting him. Both leaders also discussed overall political situation in the country, they added. They also agreed on contacts between political parties to overcome ongoing challenges of the country.

Hurricane: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif has expressed his deep grief and sorrow at the loss of life and widespread destruction of property and infrastructure in the United States, as a result of the devastating hurricane. In this context, Nawaz Sharif has called upon the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington and consulates in other cities to keep in regular contact with Pakistani associations and welfare organizations in the eastern United States and extend them full support and solidarity in their hour of distress. He stressed that the Pakistanis living in the US must not feel that they had been left forgotten by their fellow countrymen at this difficult time.
